The Story.
Named after the small commune in rural South-West France where Henry Langlois and Lotte Eisner stored Cinémathèque Française’s film collection during the Second World War, Film Béduer was created to produce films that make audiences think.
So often, the environment in which we are brought up has such a significant influence over our own behaviours and perceptions of the wider world later in life. Yet, unless we are presented with anything to oppose our own ideologies, we continue to follow the same path as those around us, blissfully content that our way is the right way.
At Film Béduer, our goal is to make films that challenge the status quo and encourage people to explore ideas beyond societal expectations. It was the intention of Monsieur Langlois and Frau Eisner to preserve as wide a selection of films as possible all those years ago, including those which were banned under the occupying fascist regime, so that others could learn from them. Inspired by this, we believe that by creating thought-provoking content of our own, we can contribute to that philosophy.

The Team.
Joe Street
Trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Joe's background is in acting and while he continues to ply his trade in front of the camera, he cites his passion for telling compelling stories and a desire to produce thought-provoking content as motivators for founding Film Béduer. His industry highlights include working alongside Cate Blanchett, Kathryn Bigelow and Antoine Fuqua.
Tobias Phillips
Educated in film production at Raindance Film School in London, professionally trained in business development and experienced as a sales executive with some of the world’s largest technology companies for the best part of a decade.
